UK Bocuse d’Or Team
ScanBox was proud to partner with Tom Phillips, and the UK Team during the European heat of the Bocuse d’Or.
The Bocuse d’Or is a biennial world chef championship and is one of the world’s most prestigious cooking competitions.
At 26 years-old, Tom Phillips, was one of the UK’s youngest candidates ever. Phillips, along with the rest of the UK Team, was in direct competition with numerous other national teams to try to make it through to the world finals in Lyon in 2019 which they successfully achieved.
“ScanBox was a welcomed new addition to the team this year! A lot of countries around the world have been using ScanBox for a while and I can see why!
They are a great bit of kit that will now become an integral part of our training and set up.”
– Tom Phillips, UK Bocuse d’Or Candidate

ETC Venues have a large portfolio of conference, training, exhibition and event venues across London, Birmingham & Manchester.
ETC Venues’ Head of Design, Franck Rosello, was in the market for a product that combined effective food transportation & holding, but also complemented the aesthetic of the suites. ScanBox food trolleys ticked all the boxes as Rosello further explains below:
“ScanBox food trolleys are an important link between front of house and back of house and make our transportation of hot or cold food extremely safe & effective.
The signature logo concept, that ScanBox provide, also complements the style our venues. Being able to brand such piece of kit adds value to our offering.”

Barry Johnson,
World Chocolate Masters
ScanBox was proud to announce its partnership with Barry Johnson, who represented the United Kingdom & Ireland at the World Chocolate Masters World Final that was held in Paris (31 October – 2 November 2018).
The theme, ‘Futropolis’, challenged all of the finalists to think about the future of chocolate gastronomy. All creative challenges were inspired by new technology, trends and changing consumer preferences. A professional jury, consisting of 21 leading experts in gastronomy, evaluated the contestants. They explored new taste combinations, forward-thinking food concepts and a design language that would define tomorrow’s commercial patisserie and chocolaterie. The contestants had the opportunity to unveil their talent to a global audience of foodies, chocolate-lovers, chefs, bloggers and the international press.
“Huge thanks to ScanBox for providing me with a portable refrigeration trolley to help with transportation during the World Chocolate Masters. ScanBox were so helpful in coming up with a fab design for the unit! It’s certainly a stylish piece of kit!
It was extremely easy to move around and the space inside offered useful flexibility. I had filled it with all my ingredients for the journey across the English Channel in preparation for the competition that took place.”
– Barry Johnson, UK & Ireland Representative

London Stadium
“Loving the new boxes. Perfect solution to help us through the busy summer season. Versatile, extremely mobile, great heat recovery and massive holding capacity. The branding is on point too. Thanks. Well worth looking into if you need a hot holding solution, saving up for the next batch already!”
– Gary Foakes, Executive Chef, London Stadium

St Ita’s
“At St Ita’s Hospital we operate one of the largest Catering Departments in the Republic of Ireland delivering food to over thirty separate locations within a 30 kilometre radius of the main kitchen (CPU).
We had to find the most efficient way of delivering both hot and cold food within the guidelines as set out under ISO 340 2007 and Scan Box proved to be the answer to all our problems.
We now operate a fleet of over 40 ScanBox trolleys since we first started doing business more than 7 years ago, and now have the peace of mind that no matter where we send our food it will arrive at the required temperature, both hot and cold.
In addition ScanBox run our annual preventative maintenance program which further supports our requirement for full time use of the trolleys.
For me there is simply no better product on the market in this field and wish them every success as they continue to meet the demands of their customers.”
– Robert Brophy, Catering Manager, St Ita’s Hospital Portrane
